1. Who we are
This website (bemeljufarms.com) is run by BeMelJu Farms, a Ghanaian family farming business. Office: Abokobi, Greater Accra, Ghana. Farm: Breman, Upper West Akyim, Ghana. Questions about your data: info@bemeljufarms.com or +233 59 226 8843.
We handle your personal data in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
2. What we collect
- Quote requests: name, company, phone, email, delivery location, customer type, products and quantities, message.
- Sell to Us (farmers): name, phone, email, farm location, crop, quantity, asking price, photos.
- Contact form: name, phone, email and your message.
- Orders and deliveries: products, prices, delivery address, the name of the person who receives the goods, a delivery photo, and the driver's phone location at each step.
- Payments: amount, date, method, reference, Mobile Money network or card type and its last digits. We never see your PIN or full card number – you type them only on Paystack's secure page.
- My account: phone, email, password (stored scrambled – not even we can read it), sign-in dates.
- Job applications: name, phone, email, where you live, experience, message and CV.

3. Why we use it
- To answer your requests, prepare quotations and handle your orders and purchases.
- To deliver, and to send you tracking links and receipts.
- To take payments and keep our accounts.
- To contact you by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email about your orders.
- To trace where a batch came from if there is a quality problem.
- To consider job applications.
- To improve our website and measure our adverts (only if you accept cookies).
We do not send you marketing without your agreement, and we never sell your data.
6. How long we keep it
- Orders, invoices and payments: as long as Ghana's tax and business laws require.
- Quote requests and messages that did not lead to an order: 2 years.
- Job applications and CVs: 12 months, then deleted.
- My account: while it is in use, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Delivery photos and locations: 12 months.
7. Security
Our website uses a secure connection (https). Only our staff can use the admin area, each with their own login and access limited by role. Passwords are scrambled, CVs are kept in a private folder, and payments are handled by Paystack.
8. Your rights
At any time you can:
- ask for a copy of the data we hold about you;
- have wrong data corrected;
- ask us to delete it (except what the law requires us to keep);
- refuse marketing messages.
Email info@bemeljufarms.com. We reply within 21 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
9. Children
Our website is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data about children under 18.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
